DR Serap Ozmen

Dr Serap Ozmen, is a research fellow in Cranfield University, UK, particularly working on Cranfield Toilet Project funded by Gates Foundation.

She is an expert in the development, testing and standardisation of non-sewered sanitation systems, with a particular focus on ensuring compliance with ISO 30500 standard. Her expertise lies in designing and implementing robust testing methodologies that validate the performance, safety and operational reliability of decentralised sanitation technologies. She has also contributed to the ISO 30500 standard as BSI committee member.

In short, she is reinventing the toilet with her team!
