GREENER event
CERTIFICATION
By gaining AGF’s Greener Event certification, events will be able to demonstrate independently verified green credentials to their visitors and stakeholders. Furthermore the AGF certification provides a framework through which to understand and manage sustainability.
Since 2007, the AGF Certification Scheme has assessed and certified hundreds of festivals, events and venues worldwide; providing independent audit and verification, and helping to improve resource efficiency, environmental impact and ultimately become more sustainable.
To attain the certification events will demonstrate a commitment to reducing negative environmental impacts and enhancing positive impacts.
The event assessment will consider the approach to key elements of environmental sustainability including energy, food & beverage, transport, waste, water, social responsibility, plus policy and strategies for reducing CO2e emissions.

Due to the variety of event types, scales and locations that we assess it is necessary to get in touch for a precise quote to match your circumstances.

In the year following a full assessment, Events can undertake a Maintainer Assessment. This enables Events to maintain their certification and grade for a further year without repeating the full assessment process.
A Maintainer Assessment requires an updated submission of data (e.g. energy, waste, water etc), and a declaration that Sustainability, EDI, and Social Responsibility practices have been maintained without any adverse material changes since the previous assessment.
The Maintainer Assessment also requires an Assessor visit to verify sustainability actions.
The Maintainer Assessment is available at a lower cost than a full assessment.
The Event also has the Option in the second year to undertake a full assessment, which provides the opportunity for the certification grade to be advanced.
