• AGFe combines industry-based research with UK government-recognised powers to accredit university and professional courses.

It delivers practice-led, research-informed, and actionable learning designed for people working across the cultural, creative, and events industries.

  • The cultural, creative, and events sectors face an urgent knowledge and skills gap in sustainability. Without skilled practitioners, decarbonising the industry will be much slower than it should be - and time is not on our side when it comes to climate change.

AGFe exists to help close this gap: supporting organisations and individuals to reduce their environmental impact, upskill their workforce, and take meaningful action towards a sustainable future.

  • AGFe will continue to provide in-house and bespoke training for organisations in the UK and internationally.

We have previously worked with The Royal Parks, Manchester City Council, Bristol City Council, The Royal Horticultural Society, Circular Culture Mexico, British Council India, and university teams from Bournemouth Arts University, University of the West of England, and Falmouth University.

About

After more than a decade delivering sustainability training worldwide, we are bringing together our knowledge and experience under a new identity: AGFe – A Greener Future Education.

AGFe is the new focal point for all of A Greener Future’s training, education, and research - building on pioneering work such as the first festival certification framework, the first artist tour carbon footprint, and the first A Greener Arena certification.

“AGF has been conscious for some time that there is a sustainability knowledge and skills gap across the cultural and creative sectors as well as the wider events industry.  Without skilled and knowledgeable practitioners, decarbonising the sector will be much slower than it should be. We are acutely aware that time is not on our side regarding Climate Change.”

- Dr. Teresa Moore, Director of A Greener Future

Through these programmes we support students and practitioners to develop actionable knowledge and skills for the sector.

  • Research & Insights

Drawing on 20 years of pioneering work, AGFe produces applied research and sector insights that inform policy and practice.

From the first festival certification frameworks to artist tour carbon footprints and the A Greener Arena standard, our research helps the cultural and events industries reduce environmental impact and take meaningful climate action.

“Achieving accreditation by A Greener Future is crucial for reinforcing our commitment to sustainable development in tourism and event management. This accreditation highlights our dedication to all factors of sustainability including environmentally, socially, and economically, while also enhancing graduate employability and upskilling.

Our MSc in Sustainable tourism and Event Management programme equips students with advanced skills in environmental social governance, sustainable impact management, and sustainable tourism measuring and monitoring for evidence-informed approaches to sustainable tourism and event development, benefiting both the industry and society at large”

 - Dr Domhnall Melly, Atlantic Technological University

“With a decade of experience of running highly successful professional training programmes, AGF is uniquely placed to address the knowledge and skills gap and help move the dial.

With this in mind, we have created AGFe A Greener Future Education which will provide a focal point for all of our training, education and research.  Over the next year, we will be launching a series of new training programmes designed to meet the needs of the sector to fill the skills gap.

It is our mission to help upskill the sector’s work force and I’m very excited by the opportunities that AGFe A Greener Future Education will present over the coming years.”
