The World’s First Carbon-Removed Gig: Case Study & Discussion

In the week before GEI, The O2 will host the world's first carbon-removed gig, featuring The 1975 in partnership with AGF and carbon-removal experts CUR8.  These pilot events will use a portfolio of carbon-removal methods to physically extract the carbon generated by the events from the atmosphere and durably store it out of harm’s way. This could be a game-changing step on the path to helping the global live events industry reach genuine net-zero.

Contracts for Climate: Panel

The days of sustainability being ‘a nice thing to do (if you have the time/the inclination/can be bothered)’ are very much a thing of the past. We’ve created and executed voluntary green riders, standards, and schemes for nearly two decades. Now is the time for green clauses to become an integral part of standard industry contracts and way of doing business. A multi-stakeholder team assembled by LIVE Green have been put to the task. So, what will the green clauses look like, who will implement them, and how do we make sure they’re not prohibitive but supportive to a flourishing future green industry?

Sigrid Svedberg from FibreStrap and Andrew Bishop from Reclaim Audio, will also be joining the ever-popular Quick-Fire Innovation Round, where these amazing innovators will be sharing their latest planet saving innovations.

We’re also excited to welcome back the Association of Event Management Educators (AEME) with a panel of the brightest research minds from across the UK set to discuss the very latest in event sustainability research.

Other panels include two exclusive research projects sharing their findings for the first time at GEI16.

An expert panel will share the latest research on accessibility and sustainability at festivals, the result of a unique partnership between  AGF, Attitude is Everything, and Julie’s Bicycle.  Our second research session focuses on the influence of green festivals based on AGF research undertaken with award winning festival Green Gathering.

Look out for more incredible speakers and panels to be announced soon.
