Lucy Bell Reeves

Lucy is co-founder of NPK Recovery, a Bristol based start-up turning urine into fertiliser. Collaborating with companies like PEEQUAL and Compoost solutions, the NPK team have processed urine from a range of events into a sustainable fertiliser, which has shown promising results in academic and field trials. Lucy and her team are the first company in the UK to process festival-goers urine into fertiliser live on a festival site - completing a pilot of their mobile system at Boomtown 2025. Lucy is passionate about pushing towards circular systems, where nutrients in human waste aren't 'wasted' and instead can be safely captured, processed, and used to reduce our reliance on synthetic and imported fertilizers.
