AGF is a not-for-profit company helping organisations, events, festivals and venues around the world to be more sustainable and reduce environmental impacts. Pioneers in event sustainability since 2005, and founders of the world's first green event and festival certification, AGF provide training, expertise, support, carbon footprint and Net Zero strategy, and facilitate exchange through events and networking. AGF delivers the Green Events & Innovations Conference (GEI) annually, the foremost conference for sustainable events. 

Role Details

Position: Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern

Duration: 6 months with potential of extension

Location: Remote (UK Based - occasional event and London office days)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: Approx 20 Hours per week

Rate: £13 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Manage & optimise organisation Social Media channels, Facebook, Instagram,YouTube, and LinkedIn, delivering high quality engaging content,  ensuring brand alignment through close working with our Graphic Designer.

  • Create, edit, and publish multimedia content, including short-form videos, reels, stories, and other visual assets.

  • Build social media presence and organisation awareness by identifying and engaging with relevant audiences and groups.

  • Coordinate and schedule content around AGF events, assessor training, and partner announcements

  • Develop, with support from the marketing team, social media strategies and medium to long term marketing campaigns including content creation, scheduling, and monitoring engagement and effectiveness

  • Work with the wider team to deliver engaging website content, e.g. blogs,  and optimise SEO content

  • Draft, design, and send email newsletters (Mailchimp), managing subscriber segments and tracking performance.

  • Work closely with the Head of Sponsorship and Head of PR & Communications to develop joint campaigns, identify marketing opportunities, and support them with high-quality content

  • Write and edit copy across multiple formats and tones with support from our copy reviewer - from press releases and blogs to social captions and event announcements.

  • Collaborate with assessors, event partners, and stakeholders to collect, share, and approve content.

  • Analyse and report performance metrics and analytics to inform and optimise future strategies.

  • Stay up to date with social media trends, best practices, and industry developments and suggest innovative approaches for marketing efforts.

*Requirements

  • A background in, and genuine passion for social media and marketing.

  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with a keen understanding of their respective audiences and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical and research skills.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different departments, maintaining clear communication and alignment.

  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities at once, including social media, blogs, newsletters, and event-related campaigns.

  • Able to adapt to the complexity and variety of work, balancing creative, strategic, and administrative tasks effectively.

  • Website design and development experience

  • Strong communication, writing, and design skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Proficient in Google Suite, Google Analytics, Squarespace, Mailchimp, Canva, Photoshop and general design tools

  • Experience in Google Ad campaigns

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

  • Proactive, versatile, and rapid.

  • Passion for the environment and live event sector
