We’re happy to welcome Atlantic Technological University (ATU) as one of our newly accredited institutions. A leading public technological university in western and northwestern Ireland, ATU was established in 2022 following the merger of three institutes. With a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community engagement, ATU is now globally recognised for its academic excellence - especially in the area of sustainable tourism and event management.
As Dr. Domhnall Melly, Programme Coordinator, explains:
“Achieving accreditation by A Greener Future is crucial for reinforcing our commitment to sustainable development in tourism and event management. This accreditation highlights our dedication to all factors of sustainability including environmentally, socially, and economically, while also enhancing graduate employability and upskilling. Our MSc in Sustainable tourism and Event Management programme equips students with advanced skills in environmental social governance, sustainable impact management, and sustainable tourism measuring and monitoring for evidence-informed approaches to sustainable tourism and event development, benefiting both the industry and society at large”.

Accreditation by A Greener Future (AGF) is an assurance of the quality and currency of content, teaching, research and supporting resources in the fields of sustainable event and tourism management.
Why AGF Accreditation Matters:
Credibility: It assures students, employers, and stakeholders that your programme embeds sustainability into its core - from policies and planning to monitoring and impact evaluation.
Relevance: Accredited programmes offer up-to-date, industry-aligned content, integrating real-world sustainable practices and leadership skills.
Visibility: Accredited institutions are featured in AGF’s international directory, newsletters, and social media, making them more visible to a wide professional and academic audience.
Scholarship potential: Accreditation can enhance access to funding opportunities, grants, and scholarships (as ATU demonstrates), especially in regions prioritising sustainable development.
