TAKKUUK

Time TBC / Room TBC

Takkuuk is a critically acclaimed immersive audio-visual project from BICEP, Zak Norman, and Charlie Miller that explores the lives of Indigenous artists in the Arctic. It is described as a powerful and moving blend of music, documentary, and artistic abstraction that focuses on the impacts of climate change, cultural displacement, and the preservation of endangered languages. Filmed predominantly on bespoke infrared cameras, the project is praised for its unique visual style, which uses both documentary realism and surreal hyper colour, and for its authentic integration of Indigenous voices and stories. It features a new score by BICEP, created in collaboration with Indigenous vocalists and musicians from the Arctic.

Directed by Zak Norman, the visual artist responsible for stage shows and music videos for artists including BICEP, Squarepusher and Confidence Man amongst others, and Charlie Miller who has worked extensively on music and documentary projects worldwide. Praised as "transcendent and immersive”; Critics have called the project "gobsmackingly great" and highlighted its immersive quality, particularly from the large-scale screenings.
