Giada Calvano

With 15 years of experience spanning research and professional practice in sustainability in the cultural sector, Giada is the co-founder and CEO of Chloe Sustainability, a consultancy that supports cultural organisations on their journey toward sustainability. Since 2017, she has collaborated with A Greener Future, where she currently serves as a Senior Environmental Assessor for events and festivals.
She holds a PhD in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona. Her dissertation on the environmental sustainability strategies of European music festivals won the International ENCATC Research Award 2025. Giada teaches cultural management, sustainable events and festivals, and international cooperation at various universities and institutions. She has worked as a researcher and project manager on several European projects, including EULAC Focus, Be SpectACTive!, MESOC, and Stronger Peripheries.
Previously, she served as Academic Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Production and Management of Performing Arts and Festivals (University of Barcelona) and was Head of Research at the Observatory of Performing Arts of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Italy.
